Puntila/Matti

September 25 @ 7:30 pm - October 14 @ 9:30 pm

| $35

It’s seven decades since the white-collars and black magic of Bertolt Brecht’s play first combined, and across from the Coke Sign in Kings Cross the alchemy is as powerful as ever.

This electrifying, breakneck odyssey of hate from Doppelgangster (UK/AUS) – world leaders in iconoclastic, political performance – drag Brecht’s Epic of corporate greed into the 21st Century.

Sacrificing their own humanity at the stage’s edge MKA’s Tobias Manderson-Galvin and German performance artist Grace Lauer’s hypnotic and darkly-comic performances will makes Brian de Palma seem banal, Die Antwoord restrained, and Zizek a philistine.

Take a class-war battlefield flashback in this brutalist, sadistic, and prophetic spectacle. Feel a cool trail of sweat down your cheek from a vicious score by Jules Pascoe (JAALA, JazzParty, Husky), guest performance by Antoinette Barboutis (the ethics of paediatric haircut for long hair), and get shockingly intimate with one of the most phenomenal live performance companies in action.
