Candice journeyed out to show us what is trending and to find her top fashion finds for May!
I’ve always had a penchant for suede in the cooler months and I’m super excited to see a lot of suede in stores at the moment! I’m seriously obsessed with these Trenery boots paired back with a gorgeous printed dress (as soon as I save up, these babies will be mine!).
High Neck Lines
Higher neck lines feature heavily this season, in particular with knits. I’ve also noticed cabling and ribbed detailing on these knits. This season, I have ditched some of my V-necks and purchased a couple of medium rise neck lined tops and blouses (that stand alone and don’t require folding over). Caution: if you are quiet big busted, V-neck tops are still your best friends, so treat this trend with caution! You might want to add a long line neckline with your high neck tops to try to minimise volume (and stay away from knits with chunky cabling!).
Fur vests and trim incorporate warmth and texture in your outfits with fur trims and fur vests. My local pick at the moment is Leisures Shoe Boutiques who currently stock a great collection of rabbit fur trims and vests- I recently purchased a fur trimmed poncho for our winter from Leisures.
Felt silvers and leather Felt hats are everywhere at the moment. Make sure you select a felt hat that’s brim is not too wide. I like to pair mine back with these MUST HAVE Sussans wax jeggings. I own one in every colour (check out the new colours this seasons-eggplant and midnight blue). I honestly can’t get enough of these pants. They look like leather but are a lot more cooler and stretchier to wear (not to mention far more affordable). You do have to take care when washing them (wash inside out and limit the number of washes where possible). Each season I buy two of the same colour – one for day wear with boots and knits, and keep a special pair for night dates with heels). I’ve also just stumbled across Rodney Clarke’s new collection of silver accessories sourced from Turkey. I love that each piece is unique and handcrafted (yet affordable). I couldn’t resist purchasing the chunky bangle (top right)-love!
Ok, I have to admit I am very biased towards anything with fringing and tassels, it’s kind of like an addiction for me. The good news for me is, fringing and tasselling is everywhere!!! Yahhhhhh! Check out these local finds.
