Move over contouring, there is a new makeup trend in town, and it's called 'strobing' . So what is it and why is it a big deal?

Strobing (aka highlighting) is essentially any makeup technique which adds illumination, reflectivity, or brightness to the skin. It’s the perfect way to lift your makeup to look more polished and beautiful, without loads of noticeable colour. It also photographs beautifully and shows off your cheekbones. Think JLo glow- fresh, glowing skin that looks and feels ten years younger. This is not 1990’s shimmer, this is sophisticated, seamless glow. We’ll take one in every colour, please and thank you.

How to get the look: strobing products come in a range of formulas – lotions, creams, powders, and even strobing primers! Try cream or liquid for dry skin types and powders for oily skin. The best places to highlight are usually tops of cheekbones, Cupid’s bow, and the tip of the nose ( just a tiny bit here!). If you like a full on glow you can mix an illuminating liquid with your moisturiser for ultimate face high beam.
