Out & AboutMeet The New Owner Of Eastern Road Quality MeatsHello and welcome to our first edition of our new chapterin Living Local. As the new official owner of Eastern Road Quality Meats, let me please start by saying a big thank you for how welcoming everyone in the community has been so far – it is very encouraging and humbling. My name is Luke Orchard andI started my career as a Retail Butcher 16 years ago. In that time I have been blessed to work in many prestigious butcher shops across New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory, where I learnt many things and came across a range of innovative products.I have a passion for food – in particular fine food based on Quality Local Produce. This started at a young age for me, being raised on the land in the Northern Tablelands districtof NSW. I looked at many shops to purchase but Eastern Road Quality Meats was an easy choice: it pridesitself on ethically-raised quality produce, exceptional customer service (a priority for me too) and it issituated in a supportive, friendly community.Eastern Road Quality Meats is backed by very passionate staff who are all staying on,so the faces you have come to know and love over the years will still be here to serve and prepare our quality produce, which will still come from Allan’s farm. It will be business as usual and not a lot will change. There may be a few new and exciting products in the coming months but good old quality and service will remain paramount.I have big shoes to fill asAllan is well known in the community for his many years of service but I look forward to the challenge and am excited for the many good years to come. We wish Allan and Kate all the best for their future adventures. Allan will still bea part of the processing stage as he will spend more time growing our lovely produce. We look forward to meeting many new faces over the coming months and providing old-fashioned service with a new-fashioned flare.Until we meat again, thank you!12 LIVING LOCAL SPRING 2016More on page 60“Dream, Inspire, Grow” www.livinglocalguide.com.au
